Deep commitment. Intimate celebration.
Konnor and Mika Cowan got married on May 28, 2022 at the Peterson-Dumesnil House in Louisville, Kentucky. Mika reached out to Warnersmith Events in January of 2022 looking for help planning their wedding. They already had their venue booked but were looking for help after feeling overwhelmed by all the planning left ahead of them. Allison was ready to jump in and so they were off to plan the day Mika and Konnor were dreaming of.
The Peterson-Dumesnil House is nestled in the Crescent Hill neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. The historic home is the perfect backdrop for smaller, more intimate celebrations. The large porch is appealing for spring and fall weddings and the interior dining room, parlor, and main room can accommodate up to 80 people inside. Mika & Konnor fell in love with the historic aspects of the home and knew they wanted to get married surrounded by their closest family and friends.
Allison and Mika got to work pulling together a vision for their big day. Working closely with Mika and aided by the input of Konnor, Allison was able to draw out their vision and help Mika refine it in a way that felt manageable. They began sourcing vendors best suited to bring that vision to life. Clementine Catering, Blooms by Brooke, Sarah Hill Photography, Jane Wedding Rentals, and Magnolia Tree Media were a few of the vendors Allison and Mika hand picked to bring Mika and Konnor’s wedding day to life. Notably, it wasn’t until their rehearsal that Mika’s mom pulled Allison aside and asked if she could find a videographer to film their wedding (the next day!). Quick on her feet and well connected to the wedding industry, Allison got to work. She pulled in a trusted vendor, Jill Bonilla with Magnolia Tree Media, who arrived on site the next morning ready to caption Mika and Konnor’s big day. A true testament to the value of a planner!
Mika and Konnor were gifted with perfect weather for their wedding. Mika’s dress from Rebecca’s Bridal was a centerpiece of the day with intricate lace appliqué and a long train. Mika fine tuned the dress to fit her perfectly, working closely with Heather Green. Mika and Konnor’s first touch and private vows were intimate and emotional, backdropped by a gorgeous old tree on the Peterson-Dumesnil property. Their ceremony was sweet and simple, officiated by Heather Southerland with Rite Events. Their reception was effortless with cocktail hour on the porch, dinner inside, and the reception back outside of the porch as the sun set. Mika and Konnor wrapped up their night as they climbed into the back of an SUV with their closest friends and family cheering them on into their next chapter.
What we loved most about The Cowan’s wedding day was watching Mika relax as the day progressed and come alive with personality as the realization that her big day was really and truly finally here set in. Konnor was in awe of his bride and the love between them was, and still is, palpable. It was an honor to plan and coordinate their big day. We look forward to all that life has in store for Mika & Konnor in their lifetime of love ahead.
Cheers to The Cowans!
